Four IB programs at a glance

What started as a single program in 1968 has developed into a full continuum of education for students.

 

Primary Years Programme (PYP)

Kindergarten (KG) - Grade 5

For entry to Kindergarten Level 1 (KG1), the child must turn 4 years old by 31 December in the year of admission

4 years old - 11 years old

The International Baccalaureate Organization’s Primary Years Program (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 10. It focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.

The Primary Years Program (PYP) is the equivalent of Kindergarten (KG) and Elementary Level. At KG Level, students study English, Math and Science and take other subjects offered by specialist teachers to introduce them to the next levels of learning. By Grade 1, students will begin to study all of the PYP subjects.

 

Middle Years Programme (MYP)

Grade 6 - Grade 10

12 years old - 15 years old

The International Baccalaureate Organization’s Middle Years Program (MYP) provides a framework of learning that encourages students to become creative, critical and reflective thinkers.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP)

Grades 11 and 12

16 - 17 years old

The International Baccalaureate Organization’s Diploma Program (IBDP) is an academically challenging. It is a balanced program of education with final examinations. This program prepares students for success at university as well as effective participation in a rapidly evolving and increasingly global society.

Subjects:

Core subjects of English and Math continue to be studied at higher levels, but students have more choices for personalizing their education.

 

International Baccalaureate Career-Related Certificate (IBCC)

Grades 11 and Grade 12

The IB Career-Related Certificate (IBCC) is a new qualification that increases access to an IB education and is specifically designed to provide a flexible learning framework tailored by the school to specifically address the needs of students who wish to engage in career-related education.

Subjects: Students have the opportunity to focus on courses that develop career-related competencies.
