Extra Curricular Activities

"Facilities too are top notch: Children have everything they need to academically and humanly explore the curriculum and broader whole child areas across the Arts, Sciences, Technology and Sport." SchoolsCompared 2018

Overview of Extra Curricular Activities

At GIS we believe that Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) are an important part of the overall school offerings. They provide an opportunity for students to develop a range of attributes which are integral within an IB education. Activities in our ECA program will offer students a wide range of experiences helping them to develop the skills and passion to pursue different areas of learning.

We provide our students with opportunities to take part in sporting activities as part of our ECA program. We believe in the value of team and individual sports and healthy competition. We know these experiences will provide our students with valuable life lessons and the opportunities to encounter success.

We recognize the importance of mother tongue maintenance and development of literacy skills. We also understand how this benefits students in developing their English language skills.

Extra Curricular Activities:

InnAct Program

undefinedInnAct is a program exclusive to GIS that puts students in the entrepreneurial position to innovate and take action. In this exciting year-long program, students will identify real-world problems, partner with local companies to solve them, and put their innovative ideas into action. To submit an application, please go to bit.ly/innact2018.

Secondary InnAct Program: Mondays or Wednesdays after school.

Primary InnAct Program: Sundays at lunch (or long recess)

Places in the InnAct Program are not guaranteed. The application deadline is September 19, 2018. Students and parents will promptly be informed whether they have been placed in the program as space is limited. For questions regarding the GIS InnAct Program, please contact the program coordinator, Javier Lucero at j.lucero_gis@gemsedu.com
