Aaron Kane
Head of Secondary

Aaron Kane brings over 20 years of experience in education, including 15 years in international schools and 9 years in senior leadership. He has led two international secondary schools as Principal and is a passionate IB educator and leader who believes deeply in the impact of the IB programmes. He sees them as the best way to challenge students to think critically, act ethically, and develop the skills and character they need for future success.
Aaron’s leadership is rooted in strong relationships. He believes in open, honest communication and encourages families to reach out with questions or concerns, no matter how small they may seem. While adolescence is a time for growing independence, it’s also a time when young people still need the support and guidance of adults. Helping students learn from their experiences, together with families, is at the core of his approach.
Now beginning his first year at GEMS International School Al Khail, Aaron is excited to build on the school’s strong foundation. He is particularly inspired by the innovative and inclusive work already underway, including the pioneering IBCP pre-medical pathway and the school’s growing global reputation for inclusive education.
Originally from Manchester, Aaron is joined in Dubai by his wife Natasha and their two children, Ethan and Lucy, who will be starting in Grades 9 and 11. Outside of school, he enjoys motorcycling, playing music, playing football and supporting his kids.
