Lawrence Thompson's journey in the field of education began at a young age, setting the stage for a fulfilling career dedicated to nurturing young minds. Starting as a play worker, Lawrence quickly discovered his passion for creating enriching environments that encouraged both playfulness and learning. As he transitioned into the role of a teaching assistant and eventually became a teacher at schools for Individual Needs in London, Lawrence honed his skills in tailoring his teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering inclusivity and support within the classroom.
Driven by a desire to expand his horizons and explore different educational approaches, Lawrence embarked on an international teaching adventure. He worked in various prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) schools in Hong Kong, where he not only taught but also assumed leadership roles, particularly in the Primary Years Programme (PYP). Now, as the PYP coordinator at GIS, Lawrence is eagerly ssupporting teaching staff to make learning contextual, engaging and fun for our young learners. Leveraging his extensive experience, he is committed to developing and implementing best practices in education, ensuring that students receive a well-rounded, holistic, and joyful learning experience. His dedication extends not only to the students but also to making the learning journey enjoyable for teachers, creating a positive and dynamic educational environment.
